Almost 1!

Here's a cute shot Papa got the other day...she looks so much like Matthew! Yesterday she had her 1 year check up: she's in the 90th percentile for height!! (50th for weight, in case anyone's wondering...!) And our doctor, Dr. Michener, said "She sure looks more and more like her dad, doesn't she?"
You'd think she'd be more of a heavy-weight with all the food she eats. Here she is after eating one of her favorite meals: beans and rice. Yum yum! She really gobbles it up. Greta is not sensitive to spicy food at all...in fact, tonight we had some Indian food that was definitely spicy and she didn't seem to care one bit.
Finishing her sandwich at lunch. A typical lunch for her includes a half peanut butter/jelly/grated carrot sandwich, some crackers, a whole piece of fruit, and some type of nutritious cookie (yes, she will probably have a sweet tooth like her Mama...although Papa fed her some potato chips yesterday and she quickly became pretty obsessed with them...). Oh, and don't forget the sippy cup! She chugs it!
Last weekend Nana came for a visit. We had such a great time. One day we went to Stanley Park and Greta had her first experience with ducks. She was so fascinated with them! Someone was feeding them peanuts, and soon Greta became even more fascinated in trying to eat the peanut shells on the ground...so after a bit of that trouble we headed to another part of the park!
Having a look at the ducks.
Mama and Greta.
The toys on this playground at Stanley Park were great! She loved going through the tunnel.
Contemplating her wonderful life :-)
With Nana.
Such a cute picture! Nana and Greta really bonded during this visit. It was fun to see.
Peek-a-boo! Greta LOVES to play peek-a-boo, and she is beginning to initiate it with us now by putting her blanket over her face and then taking it off...it's adorable!
Papa and a tired baby.
In her new bumblebee dress with bloomers from Nana--Nana also got her handmade Raggedy Anne and Andy dolls for her first birthday. Judy can't make it to Greta's party because she will be in Arizona...so it was fun to celebrate with her a little bit early.
Easter is coming! Here she is playing with some Easter eggs and looking at an Easter library book. She calls the eggs "ball". Another word Greta says now is "hot". She is very talkative...she is going to be a real chatterbox I think!
Greta loves her baby doll (and I love her in this new rainbow outfit from Judy!). Lately she has been carrying her doll around a lot. Tonight I put her baby doll into Greta's bed before putting Greta in, and Greta started to whine because she wanted to be with her ASAP!
The other night when we went in to look at Greta sleeping this is what we saw! Originally, baby doll was on the complete opposite side of Greta, wrapped up in her own blanket. This is priceless! I guess that maternal instinct kicks in pretty early?
Blowing bubbles this morning. Greta was absolutely fascinated by this new experience!

Here is a video from our visit to Stanley Park--enjoy!
